What each credential means

Every professional listed here holds at least one IPTPA credential. They are not interchangeable — each one says something specific about who that coach is qualified to teach. Use the filters to narrow the directory by credential.

Level I

The entry point into the IPTPA system, for instructors working with beginner and recreational players. Earned through a blended model: online education, on-court evaluation and a formal assessment.

Level II

For teaching professionals working with beginner through intermediate players, building on Level I. Assessed by a skills test and an observed lesson, and focused on skill progressions, shot selection and strategy.

Certified Rating Specialist (CRS)

Qualified to rate players using IPTPA’s internationally recognised on-court rating system, which assesses skill level objectively for both recreational and competitive play. Open to any coach; Level I is not required.

Certified Junior Pickleball Instructor (CJPI)

Trained to teach junior players safely and effectively, with a curriculum specific to coaching children. Requires an active Level I certification.

Workshop Evaluator

Experienced professionals who run IPTPA certification workshops and assess the next generation of coaches. Requires active Level I and Level II certification plus extensive teaching experience.

Always check the status

A credential is only meaningful while it is current. Every listing here shows the professional’s active status, and the certification pages set out what each level involves in full.
